The Centre for Healthcare Innovation, Policy and Management was founded in 2024 to create an interdisciplinary platform to generate knowledge and impact in the field of healthcare. The Centre aims to enhance the evidence base for improving health and care services in collaboration with regional, national and international partners.

Professor Gregory Maniatopoulos, Co-Director
Professor Gregory Maniatopoulos is Co-Director of the Centre for Healthcare Innovation, Policy and Management and Theme Lead for 'Translating and Implementing Sustainable Service Improvement' for the NIHR ARC East Midlands. He has over 15 years’ experience as an applied health researcher with a track record of conducting high-quality research and teaching in healthcare innovation, health policy, implementation and change. He is Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Health Services Research and Policy.

Dr Gemma Hughes, Co-Director
Gemma Hughes is Co-Director of the Centre for Healthcare Innovation, Policy and Management. She is a social scientist who uses qualitative methods to research the social and political organisation of health and care. Gemma is Associate Professor of Healthcare Management at the University of Leicester and Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of Health Services Research and Policy.
