We host a monthly BHF CRE seminar series to provide a forum for scientific knowledge exchange and the opportunity to foster collaborations. Expert and guest speakers will present several times a year to share cutting-edge cardiovascular research and spark innovation.

Annual Symposium

Our inaugural symposium took place on Tuesday 9 September 2025. We had a packed scientific programme.

A PhD and ECR cardiovascular research poster showcase and competition was held as part of the symposium. Congratulations to the winners:

PhD category

• Winner: Bethan Roper-Jones – “Structural and functional characterisation of a clinically relevant post-infarct rabbit model”
• Runner-up: Lauren Walker – “Cerebral Autoregulation in Lacunar Stroke and Small Vessel Disease: From Mechanisms to Clinical Applications”

ECR category

• Winner: Dr Yogini Chudasama – “Leisure-time physical activity and life expectancy in people with cardiometabolic multimorbidity and depression”
• Runner-up: Dr Katie Saxby – “Evaluating the costs and benefits of genomic pre-screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm”
