Health and safety induction
Before appointment as a contractor - Management
The University has a Contractor's Code of Safe Practice (PDF, 578kb) for Construction, Maintenance, Installation and Repair work which will give you information on working safely at the University of Leicester. This Code must be read and the declaration within it signed and dated by a Director or Senior Manager and returned to your University contact.
Before starting work onsite - Workers
All contractors must complete the University's Health and Safety induction on the Reset Compliance System. You must sign in to the Reset website using your individual Reset card details and watch the University's Contractor H&S Induction video. This will automatically update your induction record.
If you do not complete the induction in this way, you will see a stop at the gate message when you try to sign in on a Reset screen on campus. When you are stopped, you must follow the instructions shown on the Reset screen which will include you scanning the displayed QR code, watching the induction video in full on your device. Click on the Acknowledge button once you have watched the video for your induction record to be updated automatically.
If you do not have a RESET card, please obtain one and in the meantime watch the YouTube video below and return the completed induction record sheet (docx, 50kb) to your University contact.
Your H&S induction will expire and thus must be repeated every 2 years and/or if you have not been on Campus for the last 6 months.
Liaise with your University contact if there are any issues. Do not proceed without completing your H&S induction.
