Dr Widin Sha'ven

I am a Lecturer in Accounting with over 12 years of experience teaching accounting in higher education. I hold a PhD from the University of Birmingham. My research interests focus on sustainability reporting, accounting and accountability, corporate governance, and interdisciplinary research, particularly within the context of developing countries. I am passionate about conducting impactful research that addresses contemporary societal and organisational challenges while contributing to academic scholarship, policy development, and professional practice. I specialise in teaching Financial Accounting, Sustainability Reporting, Management Accounting, Corporate Governance, and Research/Dissertation modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I am also actively involved in the supervision and mentorship of PhD, DBA, and DProf students, supporting them in developing rigorous, impactful, and practice-oriented research. As an educator, I am committed to creating an engaging, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment that fosters critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and academic excellence. Through my research, teaching, supervision, collaboration, and mentorship, I seek to make meaningful contributions to the academic community, professional practice, and wider society.
