Main Responsibilities:

Care and Management of the Geology Collection for School of Geography, Geology & the Environment

- documentation and upkeep of SGGE Access collections database (GORDON)
- development of the collection, to include new acquisitions and disposals, as appropriate, in accordance with Museums Code of Ethics and SGGE Collections Policy
- basic conservation of specimens, environmental monitoring, and housekeeping of stores and collections areas
- ensuring appropriate specimens are available for teaching, learning and research
- facilitating access to collection for internal (across UoL) and external parties
- answering geological enquiries
- supporting student fieldwork, practical sessions and examinations

Supporting research through opening up and facilitating access to the SGGE geology collection

Publications

Behind the scenes work undertaken to support publications

Supervision

Any aspects of Curatorial and Heritage Management

Supporting students in practical sessions and demonstrating on fieldwork
