Profile

Dr Tingting Zhu is Associate Professor of Finance within the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Leicester. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE).

Dr Zhu has a track record of high-quality publications in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, including Technovation, the International Journal of Finance & Economics, and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research. She participated in the "Vice Chancellor's Future Research Leaders" programme, served as a Research Fellow at the University of Valencia and currently supervises several PhD candidates focusing on FinTech, Banking, Corporate Governance and Sustainability.

Dr Zhu’s teaching portfolio is marked by 15 years of excellence across undergraduate, postgraduate, and global MBA programmes. Her commitment to enhancing the student experience has earned her multiple nominations for the “Vice Chancellor's Teaching Award”, along with a "Highly Commended Program Team of the Year" award. She has played a vital role in strategic alignment of degrees awarded by international partner universities to the UK’s rigorous quality standards. Dr Zhu also held a Visiting Lecturer position at Universidad Europea and made significant contributions to curriculum innovation in a global context.

Dr. Zhu earned her PhD in Finance from the University of Leicester, where she also obtained her MSc in Finance. Before her academic career, she worked as a non-litigation solicitor, having completed her LLB in General Law (with distinction) at Northwest University of Politics and Law in China and a postgraduate law degree at the University of Aberdeen.
