Taiwo Hassanat Bawa-Muhammad

A registered nurse, midwife, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights specialist with clinical experience in Nigerian primary health care, Taiwo Hassanat Bawa-Muhammad brings practitioner insight to her doctoral research at the University of Leicester. Her PhD, based in the School of Healthcare, examines how provider communication at the point of childbirth discharge can be strengthened to support postnatal follow-up continuity. Through participatory co-design with frontline primary health care providers in Abuja, she is developing a provider communication package aimed at bridging the gap between facility childbirth and subsequent postnatal contacts.
