Profile
I am one of the Distance Learning Associate Tutors for the School of Museum Studies and have been in this role since 2006. For MS Flex Museum Studies by Distance Learning (Masters): I teach on core modules Designing for Creative Lives (MU7551) and Objects and Collections (MU7552), as well as option modules Lifelong Learning (MU7554), Heritage (MU7556) I have been working in museums as a collections curator since 1990, my degree and background is in Archaeology and Archaeological collections, but I now also curate social history and costume collections as part of my role as Curator of Human History for Warwickshire Museum Service. Before this, I worked for Worcestershire County Museum and started my museum career at the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff. The research for my Masters was centred around the representation of decorated Iron Age metalwork in museums and this is a subject which I have continued to pursue as a curator. Within my practice as a museum curator, my interests focus on inclusive interpretation of collections.
