Ruth Smith

I am associate professor in accounting (teaching focused) at the University of Leicester. I am a qualified CIMA accountant (ACMA, CGMA) who holds a M.Ed. from the University of Derby. Before joining academia in 2010, I worked in various roles and sectors, as an accountant in industry. I use this practical experience to underpin the theoretical content of my teaching. I am passionate about developing high quality student focused higher education for all students. My research interests are game-based learning and professional skill development. I supports students to ensure they have the skills they needed for the world of work after university.
