Profile

As a midwife with over 18 years of experience in clinical practice, clinical governance, education and research, I joined the University of Leicester in May 2025 as a Midwifery Lecturer. I have recently submitted the thesis in partial fulfilment of a Philosophy Doctorate in Patient Safety and Human Factors, in which I studied midwives' adaptive practice as a mechanism for organisational resilience. Primarily though, I consider myself to be a midwife. I love being "with woman". Their strength inspires me and the human body fascinates me. I am delighted to share this passion with the next generation and hope to inspire them to provide high quality person-centred care.
