Nicki Wood

Nicola Wood is Associate Professor in Accounting at the University of Leicester. Previously she has held a series of academic leadership roles including Programme Leader for the MSc Governance and Postgraduate Senior Tutor. She specialises in financial analysis, management accounting, and governance education, with extensive experience designing and leading high impact modules across large cohorts. Her pedagogical expertise has been recognised through multiple University of Lincoln Merit & Achievement Awards, the Lincoln Students’ Union Educational Impact Award (2023), and commendation from the Chartered Governance Institute. Nicki’s research interests span SDG reporting, governance practice and inclusive student engagement, with publications for the QAA and forthcoming contributions to Routledge. Before joining academia, she worked in senior financial positions in industry and practice, becoming an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in 2000. She also serves on the CGI UK & Ireland East Midlands Committee.
