Profile

Matthew is an academic and Chartered Physiotherapist specializing in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports medicine, and injury epidemiology. He teaches across undergraduate and foundation-year physiotherapy programs at the University of Leicester and is completing a PhD on injury surveillance and risk factors in elite international lacrosse. Matthew has published in leading journals, presented at international conferences, and serves on the Medical Commission for World Lacrosse.

Teaching

Matthew delivers research-led teaching across undergraduate and foundation-year physiotherapy programs at the University of Leicester. His modules focus on musculoskeletal anatomy, pathophysiology, clinical assessment, and evidence-based practice. He designs inclusive, innovative curricula, integrates practical and theoretical learning, and supervises students in research projects and clinical placements. Matthew also develops and assesses OSCEs, written exams, and blended learning resources to ensure high academic and professional standards.
