Profile

I am the Director of the Legal Advice Clinic where law students give free legal advice to the public. I also oversee the other pro bono activities which involve helping members of the community with their legal issues. I am a qualified solicitor with a background in insurance litigation. The Legal Advice Clinic is diverse and inclusive and I try to produce as many opportunities as possible for engaged and hardworking students to obtain practical legal experience.

Teaching

I run a number of optional 15-credit modules where students can work in the Legal Advice Clinic as part of the final year of their LLB. The work is supervised by me and by other practicing solicitors within the Law School. I run another module where students can take part in other pro bono activities a part of their final year of study. I oversee other opportunities for students to do similar work on an extra curricular basis. By offering a variety of options for taking part within and outside the curriculum we ensure that suitable opportunities exist for as many students as possible who want to obtain practical legal experience.
