Profile

I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1983 and then undertook Paediatric training in Birmingham Bristol and Nottingham and became a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics in 1993. I completed a MD in Medicine (lung infection and immune responses in young cystic fibrosis patients) in 1997 and have worked as a Consultant Paediatrician (Community) from 1996 - 2020. I have held a number of senior educational leadership positions at the University of Leicester as Head of Student & Staff Support and Deputy Director Undergraduate Medical Education and as the Associate Medical Director for Medical Education at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. I am currently Deputy Head of Leicester Medical School working with the Head of School to provide strategic direction vision and leadership with respect to the delivery of all School activities. MB. Research

I am active in education pedagogy in the field of medical student professional development peer education student and trainee support and the use of e-learning to develop professional attributes and student engagement with learning and reflective practice.
