Profile
I am a PhD researcher in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, specializing in cross-boundary collaboration between museums and external entities such as video game, technology, and media companies. My work bridges cultural institutions and technology, aiming to uncover the strategic and policy-driven frameworks that facilitate these partnerships and to assess their collaborative potential. With an academic background in Art Museum and Gallery Studies (MA) and Cross-Cultural Management (BA), as well as extensive teaching experience in cultural and media studies, I bring a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between culture, technology, and public engagement. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, with a strong record of contributing to research, teaching, and innovative projects within educational and cultural institutions.
Research
I am currently pursuing PhD research on cross-boundary collaboration between museums and the video game industry. This project explores how museums and video game companies establish partnerships that drive innovative strategies across both sectors. Through key case studies, my research aims to identify the strategic and policy-driven factors that enable or challenge these partnerships, examining resource sharing, technology integration, and the dynamics of actor interactions in collaborative practices. Ultimately, this research seeks to assess the transformative potential of these partnerships on museum practices and their broader impact on cross-sector collaboration.
Interests
My academic interests are centered on the intersection of digital technology and cultural heritage, especially in exploring how museums can innovate through collaborations with industries outside the traditional cultural sector. I am particularly intrigued by the role of digital technology in shaping public engagement and cultural representation in museums. Additionally, I have a strong interest in policy studies and their impact on museum practices, as well as in the application of media and communication theories to understand the dynamics of cross-sector collaboration.
