Dr Jatinder Hayre is an academic medical doctor and public health researcher whose work focuses on health inequalities, health systems, and the social determinants of health. Drawing on both clinical training and population health research, he is particularly interested in how services can be designed and delivered to achieve more equitable outcomes across diverse populations. His research spans evidence synthesis, policy-relevant public health, and the development of complex interventions to improve long-term outcomes following disease. Alongside this, he has contributed to pioneering work at the intersection of machine learning and health equity, exploring how data-driven approaches can be harnessed to better identify, understand, and address structural disparities in health As an Honorary Fellow at the University of Leicester, Dr Hayre contributes to collaborative research and academic activity, with a focus on translating evidence into practice and strengthening the responsiveness of health systems to patient need. His work is underpinned by a commitment to advancing interventions that do not merely describe inequity, but actively seek to reduce it through thoughtful system design.
