Profile
My active research areas can be broadly summarised into three main topics: vegetative plant cultivation; ancient starch analysis and organic residue analysis; and, the functional and technological analysis of stone tools. In recent years I have undertaken fieldwork in the tropics of Sarawak and South sub-tropical China with research interests in the history of vegetative and arboreal plant use and other cultivation systems in these regions. I have also worked with colleagues exploring ideas about tool use and materiality in the later Neolithic and Bronze Age of Britain.
