Profile

I am a PhD student at the University of Leicester and am working within the Genetic Epidemiology group of the Population Health Sciences department. My research is funded by the Wellcome Trust Doctoral Training Programme.

Research

My project is titled “Exploring the contribution of complex genomic variation to fibrosis risk” and involves the use of R (specifically Genome Wide Association Studies) to identify structural variants which are associated with the disease.

My Masters' Project was completed in the Living Systems Institute at Exeter University. I used bioinformatics strategies in R to identify genes which are associated with hippocampal development, with the aim of modelling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Conferences

Presented my Masters' Project at the 2024 Society for Natural Sciences' Annual Student Conference
