Dr Emma Popejoy

Clinical Assistant Professor in Children and Young People’s Nursing - Nottingham Children's Hospital (Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust) Honorary Fellow - School of Healthcare, University of Leicester I am a Clinical Assistant Professor in Children and Young People’s Nursing and I’m passionate about enhancing the healthcare experiences and outcomes for children with complex care needs and their families. My role combines hands-on clinical practice and applied research. I deliver direct care to children with complex care needs in the hospital setting, whilst leading the development of a research program focused on advancing clinical care in acute environments. As an Honorary Fellow in the School of Healthcare, I support the development of clinical-academic health professionals through research supervision and mentorship. This honorary role also enables me to foster cross-sector collaborations and build networks within the research community to drive innovation and enhance the quality of care delivered in the paediatric hospital setting. As an early career researcher, I strive to be a visible example of non-medical clinical academic career development, drawing from my own journey to support others and build research capacity and capability, with the ultimate aim of improving patient care.
