Profile

I am an expert in Business Law, with a main focus on Small Medium Enterprise (SME) financing and development. My interest in this field originates from my PhD, which looked and the legal, market and cultural impediments to financing SMEs (awarded by Nottingham Trent University in 2020).

I joined Leicester in 2025 as a Lecturer, and have previously held teaching positions at Coventry University (2019 – 2024) and Nottingham Trent University (2016 -2019).

I also have a general interest in the Energy Sector and have worked a as European Analyst at the National Energy System Operator (NESO) exploring energy policy and regulations.

Research

My research interest is centred around law and development in developing economies, and the role legal and social institutions play in growing these economies. My more specific focus is on SMEs as the driving force for development and the analysis of policies and regulations that further SME growth.

I also have an interest in Whistleblowing protections and have published on this area.
