Profile

I am a PhD student at the University of Leicester specializing in social networks and behavioural economics. My research explores how caste-based social networks influence the adoption of renewable energy in rural India. In addition to my doctoral studies, I work as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Leicester Experimental Economic Laboratory (LEXECON), where I manage laboratory operations and conduct experiments to further understand economic behaviours. I deliver seminars and support undergraduate students, as a tutor, for courses such as Mathematics for Economics I (EC1005) and Mathematics for Economics II (EC1008).

I hold an MSc in Economics (Economic Policy) from the University of Bristol and a BSc in Economics from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. I have published several papers in journals such as Theoretical and Applied Economics and with organizations like the Centre for Social and Economic Progress, on topics ranging from fiscal policy to macroeconomic crises.

Research

My research interests lie at the intersection of social networks, behavioral economics, and renewable energy adoption. I am particularly interested in exploring how caste-based social networks influence economic decision-making and the diffusion of sustainable practices like renewable energy technologies in rural India. Additionally, my research delves into the broader realm of economic policy and development, analysing the impacts of government expenditure, economic growth strategies, and development policies on societal outcomes.
