Research

Catriona’s research focuses on how students, employers, and educators understand and develop professional skills within accounting education, with a particular emphasis on ethical judgement and employability. She is interested in how learning experiences, professional expectations, and real‑world contexts shape students’ transition into the workplace.

Her work explores the perspectives of students, employers, and wider stakeholders to better understand how ethical capability, professional confidence, and key behavioural skills are formed. She is especially interested in how universities and professional bodies can strengthen these areas through innovative teaching, assessment design, and authentic learning experiences.
