Profile

I am a BSc Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience graduate with an interest in cognition, spatial navigation, and computational neuroscience.

Currently pursuing an MPhil in Biometric testing in e-commerce, using eye-tracking and emotion recognition to better understand customer behaviour, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Lnet Digital. I am supervised by Dr Claire Hutchinson, Prof Kevin Paterson, and Dr Matthias Heintz.

Research

My MPhil research project centres on the use of biometric testing in ecommerce, specifically utilising iMotions software to conduct remote behaviour studies. This research aims to analyse and predict consumer behaviour and experience by identifying key indices of eyemovement behaviour, emotional responses, and visual perceptual decision-making in the neuromarketing context.

I hold a BSc in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience awarded by the University of Leicester. For my undergraduate dissertation project, under the supervision of Dr Carlo de Lillo, I explored the strategies people use to learn and infer logical relationships between stimuli through a transitive inference task related to their attitudes towards spatial problems. Our findings allowed us to examine a psychological theory about how people learn relationships between elements of their environment.

Teaching

I do not have teaching duties at the University of Leicester

Activities

  • I have long been a supporter of open research, starting in my undergraduate days. As a result, I have been involved with the Leicester ReproducibiliTea Journal Club for three years, serving as a co-organizer since June 2022. I have moderated numerous sessions, delivering presentations and leading discussions;
  • I am currently the College of Life Science PGR Students Representative. In my role, I represent the views of PGRs on important matters relating to research, supervision, and the facilities in their research environment, ensuring the PGR student voice is heard at the College and University level;
  • I also work as a Psychology Student Ambassador during Open Days and Offer Holder's Days.

Conferences

Attended as a particpants the following conferences:

  • BNA Festival of Neuroscience (2021)
  • Brain Conference (2022)
  • 21st European Conference on Eye Movements (2022)

I gave a talk at the NPB Postgraduate Research Conference 2022 entitled "Neuromarketing: the secret to the customer's brain or a gamble?"
