An understanding of business models and practice management skills to ensure that optometrists are cognisant and capable of entering the workplace with a thorough understanding and appreciation of how businesses work. This has been highlighted as a particular area to focus on following continued discussions with industry, so this content will help to ensure graduates have a rounded knowledge base and are meeting the needs of employers when qualifying. Navigating the relevant laws and processes within the profession, including more general topics such as safeguarding and consent will also be covered.
