You will learn about different health systems, and the role of nutrition, sanitation, communicable disease and public health in defining life expectancy. You will consider how different patient characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, sexuality and deprivation affect your life chances. The models of care in different countries will be compared with that in the UK. You will consider the role of the different healthcare professionals within healthcare systems, the concept of professionalism and effective interprofessional working.
