Advanced Gas Turbines shows how different disciplines that you have studied during previous academic experience combine to deliver an advanced aeronautical engineering product. A holistic view of the gas turbine from its specification, through design, testing, certification, and in-service life is presented. Supporting this holistic view, are technical notions of the gas turbine thermodynamic cycle, the aerodynamics and the thermal management of individual components from inlet to exhaust, manufacturing engineering aspects including tooling, fabrication and production techniques, stock management, and certification and continuous airworthiness support throughout the service life of the turbomachine.
