Sustainable Business Design in Global Context

This module explore the issues of designing sustainable and responsible business models in international environments.  You will examine how organisations integrate environmental and social considerations into strategy.  Long-term value creation is central and sustainability is framed as strategic innovation.

Throughout the module you will be guided through the theories and concepts associated with circular economy principles, sustainable innovation and responsible leadership.  You will analyse global sustainability challenges and be introduced to frameworks for measuring social and environmental impact.  The use of case studies illustrate applied sustainability design.

The module will help you to integrate sustainability into business planning and strategic thinking.  You will develop analytical skills to evaluate sustainable value propositions, and ethical reasoning and systems thinking are encouraged.  Innovation for societal impact is emphasised.

You will consider global regulatory pressures and stakeholder expectations, as well as examine climate risk and resource constraints.  By the end of the module you will understand how sustainable design drives competitive advantage.
