Developing HR Practitioner Skills
Module code: MN2516
This module bridges the gap between academic study and professional practice, helping you develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed as an HR professional. You will explore the realities of people management by applying theory to the complex situations and decisions that HR practitioners encounter in the workplace.
You will develop practical skills in communication, problem-solving, ethical decision-making, conflict resolution and employee relations, while considering the commercial, legal and organisational factors that influence professional judgement. Through realistic workplace scenarios and contemporary HR issues, you will evaluate different approaches to managing people and explore how HR professionals balance the needs of employees with those of the organisation.
Throughout the module, you will reflect on the behaviours and values expected of today's HR professionals, including inclusive practice, professional courage, commercial awareness and a commitment to continuous learning. By combining academic research with practical application, you will develop the confidence to analyse workplace challenges, make evidence-informed decisions and contribute effectively to organisational success.
