AI in Business
Module code: MN1032
The module takes you to the core of business innovation, where AI is no longer optional but integral to strategy, operations and competitive advantage. You'll appreciate how AI technologies are transforming sectors as varied as financial services, consumer markets, logistics and professional consulting. Through case studies and hands-on applications, you'll investigate real-world uses of AI in areas such as automation, analytics, decision-making and personalisation.
At the same time, you'll critically assess the limitations, risks or should we say dark sides of AI in businesses. Issues such as data privacy, algorithmic boas and job displacement will be sensitised and you'll learn to ask not just what AI can do, but what it should do and how businesses can lead responsibly in an AI-driven market.
By the end of the module you will be able to examine key concepts of artificial intelligence and its application in contemporary business settings. You will analyse how AI shapes operations, decision-making and competitive positioning, and evaluate the broader ethical, legal and societal implications of AI adoption. You will also develop practical strategies for using AI tools to solve business challenges and improve organisational efficiency. Throughout the module, you will reflect on your personal development, identifying your strengths and areas for growth in transferable skills essential for the future workplace.
