Mass spectrometry is a key tool in modern science to unravel and reveal molecules and molecular interactions. Its use is widespread in fundamental biology but is key in the translational pipeline and clinical implementation of biomarkers and new drug targets.

This module will begin with a comprehensive background to mass spectrometry and its auxiliary components such as liquid- or gas- chromatography. This fundamental basis will provide the framework for content on proteomics, metabolomics and lipidomics. The final aspect of this module will be how to translate to clinical assays. Throughout, content will demonstrate state of the art examples such as single cell proteomics and spatial proteomics.
