Core Data Analytics for Precision Health

Module code: MD7612

Data analysis is critical to the accurate interpretation of datasets. This aspect of research is complicated by having to deal with very large and complex datasets and often having to compare datasets from different technologies. This module will provide students with the foundations to obtain, process, model, manage and ultimately interpret data. Students will learn how to use R and Python.

They will then use these tools to analyse complex datasets from genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. Further content will focus on modern data methodologies for interpretation and visualisation (e.g. pathway analysis, interaction biology etc.) and how to use repositories for the extraction of genetic, proteomic and metabolomic data. An introduction to AI and ML methods will also be taught.
