Your dissertation will enable you to develop essential skills in planning and executing an educational research project. You will learn to conduct literature reviews, identify research gaps, formulate research questions, choose appropriate methodologies, analyse data and synthesise findings, culminating in a 12,500 word dissertation (submitted at the end of the year). You will develop many other transferable skills and competencies including time management, project planning, academic writing and how to effectively communicate research findings to academic audiences.
Support is provided through a combination of in-person teaching sessions, resources and guides on Blackboard, the University's virtual learning environment, optional online drop-ins, and regular one-on-one guidance from an assigned research supervisor throughout the year.
