Gender equality continues to be a challenging task in contemporary society. Through the lens of popular genre films around the world, this module examines screen representation and reception of gender and sexuality from both historical and contemporary contexts. In addition to film texts, you will also have the opportunity to explore the industrial and social conditions that shape the gender identities of men, women and LGBTQ communities on and off the big screen.
