Electric Machines and Drives
Module code: EG2212
This is a specialist Electronic and Electrical Engineering module, which will introduce you to the basic concepts, working principles, and operation characteristics of electrical machine drive systems as the core components of sustainable electric propulsion systems in cutting-edge electrified transportation, energy storage, and intelligent robotic applications. Through intensive industrial-standard practical classes, you will be able to understand how electric drives are designed, simulated, analysed, and prototyped in the industry as the integration of advanced electrical machine, power electronics, and control techniques through using software platforms and experimental rigs. In an increasingly sustainable and electrified world the concepts and skills introduced in this module will be widely relevant in the future. This module is an important foundation for the journey towards electrical engineer and more specialist modules that you can take in later years of your degree.
