Blockchain, DeFi and Cryptoassets

In this module you will examine how blockchain and distributed-ledger technologies are reshaping financial services and market design.  You will study cryptoassets and digital-asset ecosystems, including tokenisation, stablecoins, and the fundamentals of decentralised finance (DeFi) (e.g., decentralised exchange and lending mechanisms), considering both innovation and potential risk.  

You will analyse real-world cases to understand market integrity issues, operational and governance challenges, and the implications for regulation and supervision.  The module enables you to evaluate how these technologies interact with financial fundamentals and how they can transform intermediation, payments and investment activity.
