Study Skills and Quantitative Methods

This module will equip you with the essential academic, mathematical and analytical foundations needed for success in accounting, finance, and business studies.  The module develops both practical study skills such as academic writing, referencing and critical reading, and quantitative techniques used to analyse and solve real-world financial problems.

Through a combination of lectures, seminars and hands-on problem solving, you will gain confidence in applying algebra, equations, functions and basic calculus to support financial decision-making.  By the end of the module you will be able to think critically, interpret quantitative information effectively and approach future accounting and finance modules with the tools and discipline of an emerging professional.
