Translation Strategies

Different types of texts require different strategies and techniques to translate appropriately and correctly for the intended target audience. In this module you will explore a range of translation techniques and strategies, and employ them effectively on suitable types of texts. You will gain an understanding of the process of translation at different levels as well as critically reflect upon, and engage with the scholarship on translation practice. This module is taught in a combination of seminars and workshops to give you plenty of opportunities to practice and reflect on translation. You will also learn through non-assessed formative tasks integrated in the module.
