Interpreting Key Texts

Module code: SY1008

The aim of the module is to provide an overview of the key sociological knowledge that has shaped the research of sociologists at the University of Leicester. We will focus on around 18 key texts chosen by academic staff and researchers. The module is team taught, given the spread of sociological knowledge required, with each lecture being focussed on one key text and followed by seminar discussion of that text. You will engage in discussions around issues of content, method, ethics and impact and gain familiarity with the whole faculty and its work.
