Psychopathology: An Integrated Approach to Disorders of the Mind for Intercalation
Module code: PS3123
This module will cover the key aspects of mental health and the biological basis of human behaviour. You will discover how to identify, classify, and treat disorders of the mind. This module takes a biopsychosocial approach to studying psychopathology, by discussing the importance of considering how biological, psychological, and social factors interact to predispose individuals to psychological disorders, and to precipitate and maintain their symptoms. You will also learn about the major models of personality that can be employed in conjunction with these approaches to help inform our understanding of normal and atypical human behaviour. You will also learn about core academic skills to help you think like a psychologist. This module is assessed by both written examination and coursework.
