The illegal drug trade has been estimated to take up almost 1% of all trade on Earth. From coca cultivation in Latin America all the way to the nightclubs of major Western cities, it's a truly global supply chain, but have you ever stopped to consider the context behind their production, supply and sale?

In this module, you'll examine the modern drugs trade. This will include analysing the societal, economic and political impact of the production, trafficking and consumption of narcotics. You'll examine the political and legislative response from national and international bodies. Plus, you'll assess academic and policy literature on the dynamics of the trade and international responses.
