Radiation and Matter
Module code: PA3230
This module builds on your knowledge on quantum physics and explore key areas of quantum physics such as nuclear physics, atomic physics, radiation transfer and lasers. Nuclear physics includes topics such as simple nuclear models, nuclear decay and reactions. Atomic physics delves into quantum numbers and the structure of the periodic table, the spectra of simple atom. Radiation and lasers is an area of physics that explores basic radiative transfer and lasing action. During this module you will develop skills and problem solving abilities, and communicate complex scientific ideas to your peers. Alongside lectures, active problem solving workshops and seminars will supplement your learning.
