Management of Complex and Long-term Conditions in Children's Nursing
Module code: NU3115 (double module)
Nurses undertake an important role in meeting the health needs of children and young people living with complex and long-term conditions – these nurse/patient relationships are long-lasting and trusting. We will evaluate the types of conditions that are long term or lead to complex care and their treatment – such as diabetes, epilepsy, asthma etc. and we will explore the role of the nurse in meeting the health needs of children and young people and their families living with complex and long-term conditions.
We will critically evaluate the diverse nature of multi-agency care required across primary, secondary and tertiary settings to ensure a children and young people centred journey and you will be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of a nurse’s role in partnership working in complex/long-term care.
This module will be taught through a varied selection of lectures, seminars and workshops, problem based, case studies, online activities and flipped learning.
