This module is facilitated by a combination of lectures, small group tutorials, guided study /online learning packages, problem based case scenarios, and practice based learning/caseloading, that help you to develop your understanding of organizational leadership and the key concepts of managing resources within the healthcare setting. The knowledge, skills and attitudes required to manage resources, as well as the key theories of leadership and how these relate to resource management will be critically explored. You will reflect on your own personal leadership and managements skills as a future leader within your chosen profession, identifying areas for future development in managing resources.

You will continue to be in small inter-professional (midwifery and nursing) learning sets where you will have the opportunity to explore effective resource management in practice and discuss your observations and experiences with a local midwife/nurse leader, applying this to the NHS Leadership Academy’s Nine Dimensions of Leadership.
