Global Cultures
Module code: MS3004
The term ‘Global Cultures’ often brings to mind notions such as cultural imperialism, global cinema and Hollywood. But, Global Cultures are more than that: they encompass complex relations between globalisation and culture at large. You'll explore those relations and interconnections that happen on a global level between different actors and insitutions – Citizens, Cultural Industries, International Organizations, NGOs, Multinational Corporations - and unfold some of the complexities of the diverse world in which we live. The module also looks into some of the problems and processes of globalisation from a more humanistic perspective.
