Your Research Methods module explores the issues of designing and conducting rigorous business research.  You will examine how research questions are formulated and investigated, with an emphasis on the importance of academic rigour.  Ethical research practice is central to the analysis.

You will be guided through the theories and concepts associated with qualitative and quantitative methods, data collection techniques and analytical approaches.  You will explore research design frameworks and sampling strategies.  Reliability and validity are critically assessed and data interpretation skills are developed.

This module helps you to prepare for independent research projects and dissertation work.  You will enhance analytical reasoning and critical evaluation skills.  Practical exercises in the module support research proposal development and academic integrity is reinforced throughout.

In the module you will consider the philosophical foundations of research methodologies and examine ethical approval processes and data management practices.  Reflective engagement with research limitations is encouraged and by completion you will be equipped for advanced academic inquiry.
