Introduction to AI in Business explores the issues of artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on business operations and strategy. You will examine how AI technologies influence decision-making and organisational performance. The opportunities and risks of automation are critically assessed and innovation and disruption are central themes in the module.
The module will guide you through the theories and concepts associated with machine learning, data analytics, automation, and digital transformation. You will explore real-world business applications of AI across industries and be introduced to ethical frameworks and governance considerations. You will also analyse the relationship between AI and competitive advantage.
You will evaluate how organisations create value through AI adoption and develop critical awareness of technological capabilities and limitations. The use of case studies enhance applied understanding of AI implementation and data literacy and strategic insight are reinforced throughout.
You will consider the ethical, social and regulatory implications of AI in global markets; examine workforce implications and skills transformation; and discuss responsible innovation and sustainability. By completion of the module you will understand AI as a strategic enabler in modern business.
