Health Data Science Project
Module code: MD7477
The 12-week project gives you the opportunity to carry out an extended and in-depth piece of work on a real problem in health data science.
Lecturers and researchers propose suitable topics for projects or you can propose your own project providing it is approved. The project may apply methodology learnt as part of the course or in a new area, be more methodologically-based considering an issue in health data science in more detail or involve developing computer software to implement a technique.
An introductory seminar at the start of the project will cover the management of the project, project skills and the expectations. You will be allocated a supervisor who you meet weekly to discuss progress but you are expected to work independently. After four weeks you will give a short presentation on the aims and interim findings of your project and at the end of the 12 weeks you will present the project work in detail in an extended technical report with a maximum of 20,000 words.
