Quantitative Methods for Quality and Safety in Healthcare

In this module you will study quantitative methodologies useful for quality improvement and monitoring patient safety. We will explore the creation, reporting and interpretation of descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing and simple SPC methods using Minitab. Real data will be used to illustrate the issues and to explore the advantages and disadvantages of different methods. We will investigate practical issues in reporting both cross-sectional and continuous monitoring quality and safety indicators.
