In this module, we'll explore the world of machine learning models, which are the essential tools for deriving reliable conclusions from data. We'll start by understanding the reasons for modeling data, and the limitations to keep in mind (including important ethical considerations). You'll learn to differentiate between the main categories of data models and discover use cases where each type proves most effective.

The focus will then shift to an overview of the logic and mathematical foundations behind each major model category. You'll gain hands-on experience by implementing these models using either R or Python, ensuring you can clearly present the outputs and draw meaningful conclusions while acknowledging any limitations. We'll illustrate these concepts with examples spanning diverse application areas.
