Actuarial Mathematics Project
Module code:MA3515 (double module)
The purpose of the project is for you to complete a substantial individual project in a broad area related to actuarial science. This might involving identification of a mathematical model for a suitable application problem and the development, analysis and implementation of a computational method.
Alternatively it could involve research on an economic, social science, or computing topic that contributes to the broad area of actuarial science. In doing this, you will research information from a variety of sources and demonstrate the ability to pursue an extended period of independent study of some depth.
The project has two phases. First you will work as part of a small team to carry out initial work and develop a group presentation to be delivered early in February. In the second phase you will chose a particular aspect of your group topic and undertake individual work leading to writing a research dissertation.
